Globally countless millions of people are without adequate healthcare and often the doctors and nurses training in those countries have given up on the idealism that made them train and take up posts in rural areas. With no ongoing training, poor resources and a sense of isolation, many have given up. Many come to the West for training and never go home.

In developed countries, there is a sense of depersonalisation of healthcare with tick-box systems and the prioritising of targets before compassion. So many people cry out for doctors and nurses who truely care for them.
