Africa Egypt: Primary care development, medical school and student training, faculty development, mental health and surgical training. PRIME has worked at a major Christian hospital that has now become a training centre for doctors from all over Egypt and nearby countries and PRIME continues to provide specialist trainers to support their training programmes. PRIME tutors have taught at universities, at major conferences in Cairo, have run a major psychiatry conference and taught endoscopy to local specialists, and we are delighted to have a number of Egyptian collegues registered as PRIME tutors.
Ethiopia: PRIME tutor/facilitator training conference in Addis Ababa. It is planed to provide further DVD teaching materials and a handbook to enable members of CMDDF to spread the concepts and practices promoted by PRIME throughout the country. Talks were held with the General Secretary of the Evangelical Churches Association in Ethiopia concerning the need for training pastors in understanding health issues, especially mental health.
Kenya: Primary care development, healthcare education and leadership training. PRIME tutors facilitated the setting up of the Kenyan Association of Family Physicians and provided the teaching at their conference in Nairobi and Kisumu. A PRIME tutor has been working at Kijabe Hospital supervising the training of family doctors from Kenya and Southern Sudan to equip them to work in their home country and a PRIME team will be attending an international CME event in Kenya in February 2012.
Mozambique: A PRIME programme in Maputo successfully introduced whole person medicine concepts to some key medical areas in the city. A UK PRIME tutor is currently resident in the country on a two year programme.
Nigeria: PRIME conference, surgical training. The Ibadan Medical School has introduced the idea of PRIME Nigeria and two PRIME partners joined the recent PRIME UK tutor training course when a partnership agreement was discussed. Two PRIME tutors will be running a PRIME workshop at a state conference in November 2011.
Rwanda: Primary care, surgical training, development of basic healthcare training for non-medical personnel. PRIME has delivered whole person healthcare training to healthcare professionals and pastors. PRIME tutors have also been involved in HIV/AIDS education and health provision programmes and delivered surgical training at regional hospital.

South Africa: Potential project development being explored
Tanzania: Potential project development being explored
Uganda: PRIME has begun a programme of healthcare education and awareness for pastors and contributed to the States Volunteer Healthworker training programme.
Zambia: Palliative care and faculty development. PRIME tutors ran a training of trainers and basic palliative care programme at Chainama College of Health Sciences in Lusaka, and has on-going links with partners there. We are a founding partner in the Zambian Health Workforce Alliance which aims to increase the number of healthcare workers in the country.
